ABOUT
Dubbed MS_kyoto_plants, Mitani Shoji launched its plant business in June 2023 with the conceptual tagline of “Enrich your life with plants”. The business involves importing and producing mainly rare succulent and tuberous-root plants from Africa and other countries and selling gardening products. It aims to bring a little more enrichment to people’s daily living in the form of chic or pretty-looking plants that provide a relaxing and healing experience through contact with vegetation and soil and also serve as interior decorations.
NEW INFORMATION
After opening the business’s dedicated accounts on social media in June 2023, we have been posting daily news updates, including plant import and growth status reports. The business entails importing plants mainly from Taiwan and Indonesia and selling them to people all across Japan through social media, online shops, and pop-up retail at various events. In addition to such plants, we have started dealing with gardening products while expanding our import and sales channels and developing new products to pave the way for further growth in the future.

ABOUT
Leveraging our advantages of being a trading company, we have also commenced new initiatives that enable us to develop truly novel products by linking companies across different fields. The first of such initiatives was a collaboration with an age-old soy sauce manufacturer based in Kyoto, which involved installing special speakers on soy sauce barrels to transmit musical vibrations through them, and this has succeeded in producing extraordinary flavors. We are determined to apply this musical vibration technique as well as facilitate other novel initiatives to contribute to the local communities of Kyoto.
NEW INFORMATION
We have started promoting this brand of musical-vibration-brewed soy sauce on social media as the first commercially released product under the initiative. We have also opened a dedicated online shop in an effort to promote sales of these products to the general public.
Aside from this soy sauce, we have initiated projects to develop and market liquors and beverages that are novel yet delicious.
